Daiwa – A Japanese Company With Products Made in the UK
Daiwa is already on its fiftieth year in the business of fishing. It was founded in 1958 by Yoshio Matsui. Over the years, the Daiwa name became very famous for its design and manufacture of fishing rods and reels that capture all styles of fishing. The company became known for its innovative and high quality products. The company grew big and began establishing satellite companies across the world including France, USA, Australia, Germany and Taiwan.
In 1977, it made a bold move of building a plant in the United Kingdom for rod making. This plant designed and manufactured tackles for the UK, as well as European anglers. The plant was considered to be a most advance rod production facility. The products created in this plant can be proud of the claim “Made in the UK”. The plant produced the new Spectron M2, the popular Signature salmon rods and the Saltist Advance collection.

In the United States, based in Cerritos, California, Daiwa has Daiwa Corporation, which handles the sales and distribution of their products in the US, Canada and the Central and South America.
Included in the product line of Daiwa are fishing rods, reels and other fishing accessories. They designed these products with the the end user in mind. They recognize that the buyer needs to invest to enjoy sport fishing and they wanted to produce the equipment worthy of that investment.
