Salt Water Fishing continued..

Fishing in salt water can come in many forms and styles.  There are big-game fishing, surf fishing, pier fishing, blue fishing, kayak fishing and many others.  The very basic equipments used in salt water fishing are the hook, line, reel, rod and bait.  There are other devices such as lures and tackles that are being used nowadays.

Many tips can be offered to those who would like to fish in salt water.  One of the most important thing to consider is the tide.  It is actually good to fish when there is multiple tide or when the water is continually moving.  It is also good to fish before high tide.  Fishers should also learn to tie knots correctly because the fish would get away if the knots are not tied properly.  Additionally, it is good to be scentless when fishing.  In terms of areas where to fish, it is best to fish in grass beds, live reefs or rock bottoms during the middle of summer.   In terms of equipment, it is good to purchase the gear you will use depending on the type of fish you want to catch, e.g., light tackle for small fishes.  It is better to use a reel with ball bearings for its casts and retrieves smoothly.

There are rules and regulations that recreational fishers need to follow.  It is important for fishers to know these to prevent future problems.  In Alabama, for instance, a salt water fishing license is required for people who fishes or even simply possess a fish in its saltwater areas.
